Community Solar allows for equal access to the economic and environmental benefits of clean renewable solar energy generation regardless of whether you own a home or business. In other words, if you can’t install solar directly on your property or home, if you are a renter or do not own your property or home, subscribing to a local community solar array is an excellent option to access locally produced clean renewable solar energy and electricity savings.

With their support, our partners can build a community solar farm in your region. Once the solar farm is operational, the power it generates is sent to the local utility for distribution on the grid. Then, the community member receives credits on their electric bill and they pay for those credits at a guaranteed reduced rate.
Community Solar is a program that varies state by state and region by region, that makes it possible for homeowners, renters, and businesses to support local clean renewable solar energy projects without needing to install their own solar panels.
Depending on the project and your location, you can expect to save up to 20% and programs vary in offerings. While you will save on your electric bill every month that utility credits are applied, the amount of savings will vary. Savings are generally higher during the summer months when solar production is at its peak and lower during the winter months when the sun shines less. Of course, variations in how much energy you use will also affect how much you save.
